If you have been dismissed and believe that your dismissal was unfair, there are many factors one needs to consider. It might be useful to look at these factors in the form of a checklist; if you tick all the boxes, the dismissal is likely to be unfair.
I will consider an example where an employee is dismissed for alleged misconduct. Pursuant to legislation in this regard (section 98 of the Employment Rights Act 1996), misconduct is capable of being a fair reason for dismissal.
